What measurements do you need from each player?
Three numbers do most of the work. Chest, taken around the fullest part with the tape level. Waist, at the natural waistline, not over a belt. Height, standing straight, shoes off. Shorts and bottoms follow the waist number, tops follow the chest, and height settles the close calls between two sizes. Write the numbers down next to the player's name as you go, not from memory afterwards. A phone note works, a printed sheet works better when two people are measuring at once. What matters is that every number is tied to a name before anyone leaves the room.
How do you measure a whole team without chaos?
01
Settle the style first
Sizes belong to a style, not to a player in general. A training top and a match jersey in the same letter size can measure differently, so pick the garments before you measure anyone.
02
Ask Sublivio for the size chart
Every style has its own chart, and the chart is available on request. Measure against that chart, not against a chart from another supplier or a retail brand. This one step prevents most of the mismatches we see.
03
Measure in the kit they will wear
A base layer under the jersey changes the chest number. Measure over what the player will actually wear underneath, or as close to it as you can get on the day.
04
Take the three numbers, twice where it matters
Chest, waist, height. If a number looks odd, take it again on the spot. A second reading costs ten seconds. A wrong size costs a remake.
05
Match each player to a size, then sanity check the spread
Most squads land on a run of sizes with a few at each end. If one player sits far outside the rest, double check the reading before you lock it in.
06
Build the roster before you ask for a quote
Names, shirt numbers and sizes in one list, sent with the quote request. Sizes sent late get added late, and late additions are where errors creep in.
Does S to 2XL mean the same thing on every garment?
Where a style uses alpha sizing, the range runs S to 2XL, but the exact measurements behind each letter vary by style. That is why two Sublivio garments can carry the same letter and fit differently. The letter is a shorthand. The chart is the fact. If a returning team reorders a different style, measure again against the new chart rather than carrying last season's letters across.
What should the roster list include?
One row per player: name, shirt number, size for each garment. Keep goalkeepers and outfield players on the same sheet if they share a style, separate them if they do not. Add a note for any player between sizes, and say which way they prefer to go, roomy or snug. That note saves a round of questions later. Send the roster with the quote, not after it. The ordering process runs from first enquiry to tracked delivery, and a complete specification at the start keeps every step after it on schedule. Our guide to ordering walks through the full sequence.
Can you check the fit before committing to the whole order?
Yes. Order a free sample first and check the garment, including the fit, before the full run. The sample itself is free, shipping is paid by the customer, and availability is confirmed after review. That sample then becomes the reference for the order. Finished pieces are checked against the approved sample before they ship, so what you approved is what the team receives. If a size still worries you after the sample arrives, raise it then, while there is still time to adjust the roster.
What usually goes wrong?
Guessing from last season
Bodies change, styles change, and a size remembered from last year is a guess wearing a uniform. Measure fresh for every new order.
One chart for every garment
A retail chart, a rival supplier's chart, or last season's chart applied to a new style. Use the chart for the style you are actually ordering.
Measuring over bulky clothing
A hoodie under the tape adds centimetres that are not the player. Measure over the base layer they will wear, or as close to it as possible.
Sending sizes after the quote
Late sizes get rushed, and rushed sizes get mistyped. The roster goes in with the quote request.
Quick facts
Sizing: alpha S to 2XL where the style is configured that way. The numbers behind each letter change from style to style, so always work from that style's chart. Size charts: supplied on request for the style you are ordering. Roster: names, numbers and sizes, sent with the quote request. Fit check: a free sample lets you confirm fit first. The sample is free, its shipping is paid by the customer, and availability is confirmed after review. Production check: finished pieces are compared with the approved sample before dispatch. Ordering: made to order, quotation only, no retail sales. Standard lead time is 14 days, with larger orders confirmed in the quotation.
Common questions
Do I need exact measurements for every player?
The three numbers, chest, waist and height, are enough for most styles, matched against the style's own chart. You do not need a tailor's full set of measurements, but do not skip the chart step either.
What if a player falls between two sizes?
Note it on the roster and say whether they prefer roomy or snug. The sample is the place to settle it: check the fit on the sample garment before the full run, and adjust that player's size while the roster is still open.
Can I add sizes after I have sent the quote?
You can, but it slows the order and invites mistakes. The roster belongs with the quote request, alongside garments, quantities, artwork and delivery destination.
Does Sublivio check sizes before shipping?
Finished pieces are checked against the approved sample before dispatch. That check covers the approved design and construction, and it is why approving the sample carefully matters.
How long does a standard order take?
Standard lead time is 14 days. Larger orders depend on the requirement and are confirmed in the quotation.
