The 6 factors behind every manufacturing quote
01
The garment
A full match kit costs more to make than a single training top, and a reinforced American football jersey is a different construction from a lightweight basketball jersey. Garment type, construction and fabric form the base that everything else is added to.
02
Quantity and minimum order
Every run carries setup work: artwork preparation, sampling and machine setup. Spread that work over more pieces and the price per piece falls, which is why larger orders usually cost less per garment. Minimum order quantity depends on the garment and the decoration method. Programmes like these typically start around 24 units, and smaller first runs can be discussed per garment if your roster is short.
03
Decoration method
Sublimation builds a full colour design into the garment in one process. Embroidery is priced on stitch work. Heat transfer is priced on applications per garment. The method that fits your design also shapes its cost, which is one reason the method is settled at quote stage rather than afterwards.
04
Personalisation count
Names, individual numbers, sponsor graphics and extra placements are prepared and produced garment by garment. A squad set with a name and number on every shirt involves more work per piece than the same kit carrying one front logo, and the quote reflects that.
05
Private label requirements
If you are building a brand, your own neck labels, hang tags, polybags and carton marks form part of the programme. They are included in the manufacturing quote rather than added at the end, but they are a real cost, so plan for them from the start.
06
Freight
Made to order programmes ship worldwide, and freight is calculated once the destination and carton count are confirmed. It is never a flat retail shipping fee. Split shipments to more than one address can be arranged for wholesale and team orders, and they are priced inside the same freight calculation.
The sample is insurance, not an extra
Before bulk production, a sample lets you check fabric, colour and fit on a real garment instead of a screen. Under Sublivio's Free Sample Order the sample itself is free. Shipping is paid by the customer, and availability is confirmed after your request is reviewed. Skipping that step to save a small shipping cost is the most expensive mistake in custom teamwear. The approved sample is what the bulk run is matched against.
How to get a quote you can actually compare
Send the full specification in one message: garment types, quantities, size breakdown, artwork, personalisation list and delivery destination. Two quotes are only comparable when both manufacturers priced the same specification. Check whether freight is included, whether personalisation is counted, and which decoration method each quote assumes. Sublivio quotes on that full specification basis through Request a Quote, with lead time confirmed on the quotation once quantities and artwork are clear.
Quick facts
Pricing: per project manufacturing quote. There is no retail shelf price and no checkout. Biggest cost drivers: garment, quantity, decoration method, personalisation count, private label requirements, freight. Minimum order: varies by garment and method. Similar programmes typically start around 24 units. Sample: free sample order available, shipping paid by the customer. Freight: quoted after destination and carton count are confirmed. Split shipments possible on wholesale and team orders.
Common questions
Why do manufacturers not list uniform prices online?
Because every order is made to a different specification. A listed price would have to assume your garment, quantity, method and freight, so it would not be your price. A quote built on your actual specification is the accurate number.
Does a bigger order always lower the price per piece?
Usually, yes. Setup work is spread across more garments, so the per piece price improves as quantity rises. Your quote shows the pricing for your actual quantity.
Are samples charged for?
The sample itself is free under the Free Sample Order. Shipping is paid by the customer, and availability is confirmed after review.
Is freight included in the quote?
Freight is calculated once your destination and carton count are confirmed, so it is worked out for your order rather than estimated in general terms.
